In process of merging four insurers (Zavarovalnica Maribor, Zavarovalnica Tilia, Velebit osiguranje and Velebit životno osiguranje), all members of the Sava Re Group, a new insurance company was formed under the name Zavarovalnica Sava, d.d.

Acquisition of Croatian Velebit usluge, a company that currently holds 51,14 % stakes in non-life insurer Velebit osiguranje and life-insurer Velebit životno osiguranje. Entry into the Croatian life and non-life market.

Co-founder of Sava Invest (51 %), a fund management company in Macedonia.

Co-founder of two life insurance companies, Dukagjini Life (51%) in Kosovo and Sava Life (99,99 %) in Serbia.

Initial public offering and listing on Ljubljana Stock Exchange.

Acquisition of majority stakes in Macedonian insurer Sava Tabak (currently 66,7 %) and Montenegrin insurer Montenegro Osiguranje (99,92 %). Entry into the Macedonian and Montenegrin non-life insurance markets.

Acquisition of majority stakes in Kosovan Dukagjini (51 %) and Serbian Sava Osiguranje (98,2 %). Entry into the Kosovan and Serbian non-life insurance markets.

Acquisition of a minority stake in Helios Osiguranje (Croatia); in 2006, sale of the entire stake in Helios Osiguranje in consequence of an indirect change in control in the majority shareholder.

2002

Unallocated portion of share capital transferred to the Slovenska odškodninska družba (Slovenian Restitution Fund), which becomes 99,9 % owner.

2000

Acquisition of a minority stake in Zavarovalnica Maribor (Slovenia) and gradual increase of holding to currently 45,79 %.

Acquisition of Zavarovalnica Tilia (Slovenia). Entry into the Slovenian direct insurance market.

Slovenia declares independence from Yugoslavia. Transition from the socialist system to market economy.

Reorganisation as a joint-stock company under the new Slovenian Companies Act.

Spin-off from Zavarovalnica Sava and incorporation under the name Pozavarovalna Skupnost Sava (Reinsurance Community Sava).

Start of operations as the reinsurance department of Zavarovalnica Sava (Sava Insurance).
