Sava Insurance Group donates €100,000

The Sava Insurance Group has decided to help the people of Ukraine as part of its Heart for the World initiative, under which its employees and companies bring to life their social and environmental responsibility to help those in need. The Group has donated EUR 100,000 to the Slovenian Red Cross, encouraging its employees to also donate to charity.

“At the Sava Insurance Group, we are aware that at this moment in time we are all called upon to do what we can to help, both as individuals and as organisations, which is why we have responded to this loud call for support. We have jointly decided that the Sava Insurance Group will make a donation of EUR 100,000 to help Ukraine and its people in need. The recipient of the donation is the Slovenian Red Cross, which works within the framework of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross, which coordinate the process of collecting and delivering aid to the areas where it is most needed,” said Marko Jazbec, chairman of the management board and CEO of Save Re, on the occasion of the donation.

They also encouraged their employees to make individual donations and set up areas at all branches where employees can bring material donations to be handed over to the Slovenian Red Cross. “We really want to be of help, so we are working with the Red Cross to collect the items most needed by people fleeing war. I am confident that we will be able to collect a considerable amount with the help of our people. Part of the in-kind support will be intended for refugees arriving in Slovenia, and part will be delivered by the Slovenian Administration for Protection and Rescue to the assembly sites already coordinated by the European Commission with the neighbouring countries of Ukraine,” added Marko Jazbec, concluding: “In an ideal world, such support is not needed. Unfortunately, we are not there just yet. That is why we need compassion and kindness for others in need. From me, from you, from all of us. Let’s act as one community, as we have done so many times.”

Sava Insurance Group employees will be collecting funds and supplies until 24 March to then hand them over to the Slovenian Red Cross.
