During pandemic Sava Insurance Group even more dedicated to its slogan “Never alone”

The Covid-19 epidemic has revolutionised work and business processes around the world. When the pandemic was declared, the Sava Insurance Group focused on two goals: to protect the health of its employees and to offer its customers user-friendly and continuous service. The new ways of working offer benefits to customers and employees.

Working from home is both efficient and flexible

During the epidemic, when business was operating under exceptional circumstances, the Group companies were very successful in organising remote work or homeworking, which has proved to be an efficient and flexible way of working. Working from home has brought our staff a number of new experiences, and the positive response of our people to working from home has encouraged Group companies to continue using this form of work for certain jobs or work areas. The benefits include increased motivation and efficiency of employees, along with savings in some types of operating expenses, resulting in improved business performance of our companies.

Emergency situation steps up introduction of new technologies

The changed circumstances have steered the Group companies to make adjustments to the way we do business with our customers. To this end, we have considerably accelerated the automation and digitalisation of business processes already in progress. We have made giant steps forward in introducing technological support for remote underwriting in all classes of insurance, including remote video identification of customers for underwriting life policies. Although the rise in online sales is already high, we encourage further growth (e.g. in accident and health coverage), and expanding our product range available through mobile applications. Furthermore, we have made it possible for our customers to report claims remotely, offering other after-sales services via digital communication channels and online platforms.

Adjustments to coverages due to Covid-19

In connection with Covid-19, the Group has decided to make adjustments to insurance conditions so that life policies cover death as a result of Covid-19 without any restrictions. In addition, during the epidemic, we allowed our customers to extend the period of coverage for some policies free of charge, offered discounts for policies with lower risk exposure due to the emergency situation and included coverage for the consequences of contracting Covid-19 for travel insurance abroad without any surcharge. In addition, we are preparing a new feature for travel insurance abroad that will allow policyholders to pay insurance premiums for the actual time spent abroad. Based on our further assessments of the long-term effects of Covid-19, we will continue to make adjustments to insurance and assistance conditions for selected life and health products.

The new ways of working have reinforced our commitment to our customers and employees, so we are continuing to walk the talk of our “Never alone” promise, which is more important now than ever.
